Our purpose...

Our purpose is to be a point of reference for "green" road transport campaigns (see below).

The immediate aim is to put up loads of links to help people quickly navigate to information on these issues and find out about campaigns.

New site to contribute? If so please submit it via the site submission form. We appreciate a reciprocal link to us - but it's optional.

Google

We are...

against the welter of road-building schemes coming forward in the UK under the Government's "sustainable transport" policies - which will increase traffic, add to global warming, blight communities and destroy vast areas of countryside including SSSIs and Ancient Woodlands.

For redesigning town centres to reduce traffic out and to create fine public spaces for pedestrians to enjoy

For the adoption of pay-as-you-enter type schemes to reduce traffic coming into inner urban areas
For speed cameras, traffic calming and other measures to slow down traffic - and for making such measures genuine deterrents against speeding

For the creation of low-speed "home zones" in residential areas
For the creation of "green routes", both locally and nationally, for walkers & cyclists

Against the maze of bureacratic obstacles that stand in the way of sustainable transport schemes
Against the differential funding system which provides billions for roads but leaves "green" transport schemes systematically underfunded and marginalised.
